150 wind and brass players perform together!
On Saturday 8th March, B&NES Music Service gathered together all wind bands from it’s 3 music centres for a brass, woodwind and percussion extravaganza. The celebration took place in the West Wing at Hayesfield.
The concert gave opportunities for the wind bands to perform in one concert and enabled younger members (the youngest being 8 years of age!) to listen to, and perform alongside, players from the county’s senior ensemble. The concert culminated in a massed performance of ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ and ‘Minnie the Moocher’, where conductor Andrew Foister said ‘I have never had the opportunity to conduct this many people before’.
There was a real buzz in the concert hall at Hayesfield School with all the players clearly enjoying the experience.
