60 brass players enjoy a day of music making

On Monday 30th June, 60 children from KS2 and year 7 went to Newbridge school for the annual Brass Bonanza. The children learned 6 pieces of music they hadn’t played before, ready for a short concert for parents and Newbridge school in the afternoon.

In the evening they returned to Ralph Allen, where they were joined by BSYM Intermediate Brass Ensemble and Brass Tacks, the Music Service Brass Band. All three groups performed pieces on their own, culminating in massed performances of Grand Day Out and Postman Pat.

Over 100 pupils took part in the whole event, and over 400 people saw the two concerts.
