Almost 100 young musicians from B&NES Music Service music centre ensembles descended on Bryanston School in Dorset for the annual 4 day residential course at the end of the Spring term. The musicians enjoyed working in a variety of ensembles: a Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, String ensemble, Chamber Choir and Concert Choir and also enjoyed time to form their own small ensembles. The opportunity to perform in smaller groups of their choice proved to be an overriding success with over 30 different ensembles formed. The students enjoyed a good deal of free time to socialise or enjoy the wonderful grounds and sporting facilities available at the school.
On the final day, the students were joined by their parents, carers and family members for a delicious lunch before a casual concert in the main concert hall. Students enjoyed sharing their hard work and the audience clearly enjoyed the showcase.
We’re looking forward to next years course already!
