Fun Folk workshops and Senior Youth Folk Band

Bath Folk Club has had a really exciting and successful year, encouraging young musicians of all standards. The Senior Youth Band was set up in June and thanks to Arts Council funding the students were able to work alongside Ards CCE, an award winning youth band from Ireland. This joint project culminated in a superb concert at Bath Folk Festival, attended by the mayor and other dignitaries.

The Senior Band is made up of experienced players (mainly grade 5-8 standard) who can also learn tunes by ear. They are currently rehearsing for their next performances at a range of events in 2015.

The band’s junior section caters for students (grade 1- 4) who want to develop their skills, learn new tunes (often by ear) and enjoy playing in informal ensembles. Both groups are taught by experienced teachers and musicians.

The groups meet about once a month. The next rehearsal, which will have a Christmas theme, is on Saturday 6th December (10am- 12.30). New members always welcome.
